I've noticed that there seem to be 2 different approaches to the knitting process.
The first is to fall in love with a particular yarn and buy it on spec. Or to buy vast quantities of yarn because it is on sale. Folk who approach knitting this way typically have large stashes of yarn from which they can draw on when they are trying to decide what they will knit next. Many have more yarn than they will be able to knit in their lifetime. They let their yarn guide their pattern choices.
The second approach is to choose patterns one wants to knit and then go hunting for a suitable yarn to go with it. Folks who knit this way keep a stash of patterns, but not a lot of yarn. They may have more patterns than they will be able to complete in their lifetime. They choose the project by the pattern and the yarn follows when they can find it.
I'm a professional organizer. I live in a small space. Can you guess which of these two approaches I take?
Which comes first for you? The pattern or the yarn?

I'm definitely the second type. I have tons of patterns in a binder that is now over-flowing, LOL (and that doesn't count the ones I have yet to print).
I just wanted to thank you for your comment. And I've split for the body and sleeves (for me, that's fast).
Have a good day!
