I was SO excited to read Amy Singer's post on the Knitty Blog a few weeks back about the release of some new wool-free sock yarn. Blue Moon's non-wool version of Socks that Rock, Sock Candy has been released again and this time for a limited time in a hand-painted version.
Since it is being offered for a "limited" time I had to order myself some immediately.
The yarn arrived last week and it is really gorgeous stuff. I chose the Lapis colorway for myself (blues and greens). The yarn is 96% cotton, 4% Elite (a type of elastic that wears well) and it has a finish that looks a little bit like velvet and the plush feeling of something like polar fleece only finer. It's really gorgeous stuff.
I bought a SECOND skein of this yarn in the Singer Colorway, named after Amy Singer herself.I'm offering this skein as my final anniversary give-away. It's 400 yards (4 oz) of Handpainted wool free sock yarn , Singer colorway, which is enough for 1 pair of socks or ????
To win this beautiful skein of yarn please leave a comment on this post sharing the name/link to the pattern you would use for this yarn. It could be socks or any other pattern that you think would be a good match for this beauty.I'll be using the Random Generator again next Tuesday, September 7th to choose a winner. Comments will close on Monday night(September 6th). Good luck everyone!

I'd like to knit it up as a long-sleeved version of my fingerless glove pattern, Oblique. (In fact it was my first choice of yarn for the original sample, but I didn't have any at the time and I was under deadline.)

Mmm...this is lovely yarn! I have not made socks yet...but I am going to one day! I think I would like to see this knit up in the Twisted Sock pattern. http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEss10/PATTtwisted.php
I am also interested in knitting Lickety Split. http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTlicketysplit.html

My first instinct was a Clapotis scarf, since the colorway was named for Amy. http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall04/PATTclapotis.html.

Oh, such lovely yarn I thought for sure you'd make it difficult to enter to win - but nooooo, just share THE pattern for it? It's a no-brainer!
Pyroclastic by Marlowe Crawford. http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter09/PATTpyroclastic.php
Enough otherness to keep my interest, not so much going on that the pattern (or the color changes) is wasted.
I'm ready to forsake all other projects and cast on NOW - hurry, hurry!!!

Oh happy day! I just found knittydotcom on twitter, which led me here! I love your cute little papillon! If I won this yarn, I would probably take a go at the Vinnland socks, which have been waiting for the perfect variegated yarn! http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vinnland
and if I had any scraps leftover, I might make a light switch plate :)

I am allergic to wool so this yarn would be perfect for me to learn how to knit socks!

it would be amazing as the pogona shawl: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pogona-westknits-book-one-preview

I've been wanting to make these: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kaylee
The colorway makes me think of the character from "Firefly" for which the socks are named.

Wow! I would make a pair of socks for my inspirational, running, teaching cousine!

Oh, that's lovely! I've just started knitting shawls for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, and I would use it for one. Maybe PicnicKnits Gaenor, or one I made up as I went along, if I decided the side-to-side method wouldn't work with the colors!
I've been thinking of making up a simple rectangular shawl with lace border.

I would definitely have to make another pattern by Cookie A - because my husband so thoughtfully gave me Sock Innovation for my birthday. Vilai would work.

Happy Anniversary! Though I do not have a wool allergies, I do live in Florida and am always looking for wool alternatives to expand the wearability time of knitted items. Two or three really cold days a year are not much of an encouragement to make warm wool socks! I'd make these: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/not-pedestrian-ped-pattern

It would make a beautiful Clapotis! I have been obsessed with the Clapotis this summer!

I'd have to have the skein of goodness in my hot little mitts so it could tell me what it was supposed to be.

Thank you for hosting the give away. I think I would use it to make me a pair of Mr. tabi socks (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mr-tabi) for myself.
