I was so excited to post my progress on the Annis Shawl after such a rocky start. I was so excited to knit the second 9 rows of the pattern and get on to the "quick and easy knit" part. I didn't even find the nupps hard to do (although I must say that the yarn is a little too fine for them to look right so I'll probably leave them off).
So there I was blissfully knitting along to the end of row 11 when disaster struck. Some of the stitches got a little stuck on the join of the circular needle, I untwisted them and gave a gentle push to set them free and they took off like a shot dropping a pile of stitches off the end of the needle. Normally not a big deal except the yarn is super slippery and down slithered at least 4 of these stitches all the way to the first row.
It's taken me almost 24 hours to be able to tell this story without bursting into tears.
Had it been stocking stitch I may have had a chance of picking these stitches up again but to do it in a pattern that I really haven't mastered as yet -- Impossible!
So I'm starting Annis again for the 4th time. Wow, that's gotta be some kind of record!!
