Which made ALL of the hours of knitting and seaming and stressing about the color run etc. worth it. Totally worth it.
My niece is profoundly deaf (although she hears with the aid of a cochlear implant and has amazingly great speech). The past few years she's become proficient in American Sign Language as well.
So I included one special square with a not so secret message.
In my adaption the blanket is 7 squares wide by 9 squares long, there are no beaded squares, the border is light/medium blue, and the ASL square is my own creation.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Good Knit!
