There are a LOT of reasons to visit Half-moon Bay and it is one of the places we like to frequent now that we are living less than an hour's drive away. The patio at Sam's Chowder house is one of our happy places and today I spent some time at Half-Moon Bay nursery (and got the most gorgeous hydrangea plant) and then I added the cherry on top with a visit to the local yarn store, "Fengari" which is right on Main street.
It's a small store, but it is CRAMMED full of yarn (as you can see) and needles and books and buttons and hooks. And a super-friendly staff.
If you are into novelty yarn, they have it in ABUNDANCE -- gosh, who knew there was so much of it out there? But they have lots of regular yarn too and a decent selection of wool-free options. Lots of cotton, some linen, a wee bit of sock yarn, a little silk. I snagged some Rowan Summer Tweed on sale for $5.00/skein -- amazing. They had lots of sale yarn.
I also picked up some Knitter's Pride Karbonz DPN's. I'm not a big fan of DPN's in general but these are those fancy new age needles made from High-Tech Carbon Fiber that everyone's been raving about and I had to give them a try. Have you tried them yet? I'd love to know how you like them.
