First off the needles for 2014 is another Bias "Before and After" Scarf. I started it while visiting family over the holidays and it was the perfect project to accompany me home on the plane -- a mindless knit with just one skein of yarn.
For this version I used Linnette (70% linen, 30% Pima Cotton) and I couldn't be happier with how the color worked out in this pattern. The colors are so, so pretty and so randomly uniform. I had thought I might put it away in my gift box, but I love it so much that I have to keep it for me.
I knit almost the full skein (380 yards) but stopped just a little shy of the end since it was already a good 70 + inches long.
I used a 4 mm needle (because it was what I had on hand) although the ballband suggests Needle Size 4 and their website 5 and I'm assuming they mean US needle size. I was quite happy with how it knit up on the 4mm. It's very soft and drapey after blocking.
I've got some new knitting goals for this year which I'll share with you soon, but this scarf is a part of it and I'm excited to be underway.
