A friend generously passed along some yarn his mother had in storage (from many years ago). I looked at the box of raspberry and tan Spinrite acrylic and my heart sunk just a little -- what could I possibly knit with it?
Then I thought about how years ago my grandmother used to knit us all acyrlic slippers at Christmas and I knew that the best thing I could do with this yarn was to knit up some slippers for the people who had gifted it to me.
I used this free pattern I found on Ravelry to make his and her slippers. This is the first pair (hers) and I added a little braided i-cord embellishment to finish it off. They really knit up fast.
This has put me in the mood to start my Christmas gift knitting. I think some more slippers might just be on the list. Have you started your gift knitting yet?
