GAAA, it's finally finished! I was applying the applique trees (from the GAA pattern) to the final square this morning.
And then I gifted it to my middle niece who has been waiting with great anticipation for her very belated birthday gift.
She loved it (phew) and spent much time admiring each individual square. She thinks it's "awesome" and feels it was well worth the wait.
Of course we took LOTS and LOTS of pictures
This afghan represents about 450 hours of knitting time over the last eleven months.
If you haven't been following along, this afghan is based on the pattern found in XRX Books-The Great American Aran Afghan .
I can't say I always enjoyed working on it, but it feels very good to have knit it! GAAA it's DONE!! FINISHED!! COMPLETE!!
And my year of the Three Afghans (which turned out to take almost a full calendar year) has come to a very satisfying end.
Wow! It is so beautiful! Love the colors.
Funny, I've been following you build this afghan, but somehow I never realized how big each of those squares were!
