When Nancy, co-owner of Colorsong, heard about my yarn fiasco she very generously took 15% off the second skein I ordered. This was super sweet of her because they really were the innocents in this whole comedy of errors.
They sell 100 gram skeins of Handmaiden Sea Three. That's the only sized skein they carry of this yarn. But I had assumed it was a 150 gram skein (because that's what I saw on the Handmaiden site) and never noticed that I had ordered/paid for two - 100 gram skeins. That's why I didn't realize the skeins had the wrong tag to start with.
Handmaiden had shipped yarn wrongly tagged (with tags stating the 100 gram skeins were 150 grams). Colorsong didn't catch it at first but when they did they changed the tags. But by that point my order had already shipped.
Keep in mind, this all happened well over a year ago.
So you see, they didn't really owe me a thing but they took pity on me anyway. It made my day. Thanks Nancy at Colorsong, your kindness won't be forgotten!
Now that makes me want to visit their site and purchase from them... way to step up to the plate Colorsong and actually care about your customers!
