Over the weekend I finished knitting up "Pip" the mouse who sits atop Debi Birkin's pumpkin pip mouse pincushion. He was VERY fiddly and I almost gave up on him, but in the end, I think he turned out kind of cute.
This is a great project for left-over yarns . The pumpkin was knit from scraps which I can no longer identify (cotton I think) and for Pip I used Classic Elite "Vail" (baby alpaca and bamboo) with a little left-over baby alpaca and silk from a previous project. I stuffed it all with polyester stuffing. I used twist-ties for the wire in the arms and legs. I made french knots for his eyes, but if I were to make this again I might be tempted to purchase some plastic eyes.
Happy Pumpkin Day!
Your mouse looks VERY fiddly! Cute, though.
