The lovely new summer project I just shared with you was the first thing to be un-knit today. I still love the pattern and the yarn, but I don't like them together. At least I recognized this before I'd invested too much time in the project. Only a few inches to unknit.
Then, while I was vacuuming this morning I bumped into an old project bag containing the Ruffled Fichu. Haven't looked at it in nearly a year but when I pulled it out today I had to admit that this pattern and yarn was just not a good match either. I'd completed the entire body of the shawl (just needed the ruffled edge) so it took me a good few hours to frog that one.
I think that is one of the things that marks my maturing as a knitter -- my ability to recognize when a project is not going to work out, and the courage to rip it out and start again another day.
So, no new knitting to show but here's another lovely picture I took on my walk this week. I do love spring , even when it feels like summer!
Two frogs in one day?!?!?!?!?
I hope you treated yourself to some chocolate after that!
