I finally had a few hours to get out and discover my new local yarn store -- Blue Bird Yarn & Fiber Crafts in Sausalito.
I was warmly greeted and assured that they had plenty of wool-free yarns in the store. One of the staff kindly gave me an overview of them all and then let me loose to browse and fondle at my leisure.
As you can see, it's a well-stocked store with all kinds of goodies to choose from and some gorgeous sample knits too.
Sophie, the owner, is a very sweet young woman who made me feel right at home and gave me lots of good local information as well as talking yarns and knitting.
They have a knit night every-other Thursday, so I might just join in while I'm here if it works out with our schedule. It would be a good way to get to know some knitters from the neighborhood.
I spent a few hours prowling around and found some more yarns I would like to buy down the road. This visit I came away with a few basic cotton yarns for some Christmas gift knitting.
If you are ever in Sausalito, be sure to stop in and visit -- I guarantee you'll get a warm welcome and find some fibery goodness to take away!
