Happy Thanksgiving! My heart is bursting with gratitude this year as I just have so much to be thankful for, don't you?
As a token of my thanks for all my fellow knitters/ blog readers I'm sharing this new pattern I whipped up just in time for the holiday:
Harvest Pumpkin Egg Cozies
Yarn: Tahki Cotton lite (orange and green)
Needles: US#4 (3.5mm), 2 straight and 2 dpns
Using straight needle, cast on 40 stitches.
K2, P2 until piece is 2" in length from cast on edge, ending with a wrong side row.
Next Row RS : (K2, P2tog) to end.
Next Row WS: (K1, P2tog) to end.
Join green yarn and knit one row.
Next Row WS: (P2tog) to end.
Next Row RS: (K2tog) to end.
Next Row WS: P2, P2tog, P1. (4 stitches remain)
Switch to DPN needle.
Knit 3 repeats of Twisted I-cord pattern as follows:
Row 1: K2, Slip 1 purlwise, K1
Row 2: K2, Slip 1 purlwise, K1
Row 3: K 4
Bind off all stitches. Sew up seams and fasten off any loose ends and you're done.
Note: Cozies will sit best if you insert the narrower end of the egg into the cup leaving the rounded end to fill out your pumpkin cozy.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday celebration with family, friends, and a skein of your favorite yarn!
