It's been a little over 3 years since I first set up my knitting room in this old house. It all seemed just perfect to me at the time and as far as the knitting goes it worked well. But we discovered that we like using this front room for so much more than just knitting. And the little office space stuck over in the corner ? That wasn't working for me at all.
I've started there, replacing the old metal file cabinet and tiny desk with some nice tall bookcases. Plenty of room here now for all my knitting books, alongside office supplies and my garden reference books.
Leftover bits of yarn are still stored in the glass cookie jars (so convenient), yarn cones are next to the knitting books and I've got a couple of baskets of yarn I love stored on these shelves as well.
The remainder of my stash (which I'm still trying to knit down) is now on shelves in the cedar closet. I'm quite content to have some yarn visible for eye candy but it's okay to have the rest tucked away.
A new desk and new orientation which I love -- so much nicer to be looking out the window instead of in at a wall.
I'm planning to paint this room and hang some curtains next and then I'll be shopping for some more comfortable seating -- stay tuned for the full room reveal in the hopefully not-to-distant future.
